Mandatory Use of 1Password

As part of Virtual Coworker’s ongoing commitment to protecting our team, clients, and company systems, the use of 1Password is now mandatory for all in-house remote staff.

Passwords remain one of the most common points of failure in security incidents. Reused, weak, or improperly stored passwords significantly increase the risk of account compromise. To address this, Virtual Coworker has standardized on 1Password as our approved password management solution.

What This Means for You

  • All work-related passwords must be stored in 1Password
This includes email accounts, client systems, internal tools, VPNs, and any platform used for work.
  • Do not store passwords in browsers, notes, documents, or spreadsheets
Browser-based password managers and unsecured storage methods are no longer permitted for work credentials.
  • Use strong, unique passwords for every account
1Password should be used to generate and manage long, unique passwords for each service.
  • Do not share passwords outside of 1Password
If credentials need to be shared for work purposes, use 1Password’s secure sharing features only.

Why This Is Required

Implementing 1Password helps Virtual Coworker to:

  • Prevent password reuse and weak credentials
  • Reduce phishing and account takeover risks
  • Securely manage access as roles and projects change
  • Protect both company and client data

This requirement is a critical part of our security standards and applies to all Virtual Coworker remote staff without exception.
